My Latest Book
Living the life of an up and coming writer, but still
unknown (just published my third book ‘American Celebrations’) is not easy, on so many levels. Every time I publish a new book, I pace the floors hoping that people will like it. As I pace, I look down and the floor seems a lot farther down than I first thought. Sure would not want to fall on my face. But that is the chance you take when you put it all out there. Everyone can see your ‘exposed being’. And everyone has an idea of what you should do and what you should write and the way you should write it.
My skin is not that thick yet and I cannot wait to be found,
and become someone—in the writing world—I just know that James Patterson jettisoned that hang-up a long time ago. But pace I will, until I get that first email, or letter, or phone call, that I just know is coming. I will wait and they will send and it will sell—I close my eyes and can see it know.

What does it take to make it in the ‘Arts’
Passion, Dedication, and Years in the Making:
Many who have been following me know that in 2008 I decided to put my creativity into high gear and take it on the road to become a novelist. With my familiar surroundings left behind me and my business and creative endeavors with me in the driver’s seat, I knew that life would have a lot in store for me. With 80 books and $130.00, I took my rearview mirror, and snapped it off at the neck; took my life and faith and set out on the road.
That was 26 months and 37,000 miles ago. I have been everywhere from Mackinac Island to Key West, Florida, writing and painting.
A Michigan area native and business owner, I grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan and worked my craft in business and industry, and the creative arts. After twenty plus years of starting and operating several businesses, I knew I needed a change, a new direction in my life: Sometimes you have to leave everything you have known behind to discover what you were meant to do with your life. I now have returned to the Arts forever.
I struggle to find the words to explain this journey.
It has been incredible, outstanding, and surreal, more than I ever could have imagined. Every day is a new adventure, engaging with people that I had never heard of the day before. Certainly, there are trying times; there are real dues to be paid. Yet, when you have something as good as this—My second book ‘American Celebrations’—I will not stop until I see my dream through.
At this juncture, I can honestly say that I have reinvented myself— three times over—in my great journey in life. Art has helped me sell my book, and my book has helped me sell art—they seem to work hand in hand. It has given me an advantage that most writers would not normally have. Just a short time ago, I realized that I have arrived—me, a motivational speaker! Better yet, speaking sells and here I am…
Best of all, sharing the joy and the passion is my way of giving back to the world in return. This is what I have taken from this cathartic experience: Sometimes a “distant yearning” is God telling us to change our life. Now I live the dream…
